Lets learn what is best for you
The enjoyment of movement is the key here. Our bodies are a gift, which should never be taken for granted. So, I look at exercise as moving my body, because I am grateful for it and responsible for caring for it.
Resources for caring for your body
There are multiple workout DVDs and exercise classes out there with fitness routines that are effective. From gyms that are opened 24-hours-a-day to multiple exercise DVDs you can do in the comfort of your own home. Walking outside is free, and I did a lot of that to keep my weight off.
Many recreation centers are inexpensive and offer water aerobics for the elderly and swimming classes for the youth and elderly. From stretching to circuit training, there is no end to the choices a person has in order to rehabilitate their bodies, lose weight, and increase cardiovascular fitness.
There are many benefits to taking care of ones body. Having more energy is a very important benefit. Wearing smaller clothes. Would you like to increase the density of your spine so you can burn more glucose? There is a workout for that.
For those of you who carry more weight where it is too hard for you to move or others who have medical issues such as arthritis, there are actually sitting exercises you can do at your own pace. Yes, you can exercise in a chair. I do exercises in a chair from time from time and if you use your muscles with proper form, you can lose weight and rehabilitate. Home equipment such treadmills, elliptical riders, and weights are available for those who want to work out in the privacy of their home.
Be a positive influence on your kids
An important point to make is exercising and taking care of yourself is a great example for people who have kids. When I was growing up, we played outside all day long until my mother called us in for supper. Things have changed with more kids watching TV or playing games on the computer. However, some electronic devices such as X-Box One have exercise routines on them. Thats a good thing.
It is my goal to be as much help as I can for those of you who are tired of being overweight, out-of-shape, or just need the right exercise program so you can enjoy moving the gift that is your body.
Fitness is also mental and spiritual. Keeping our minds on positive goals and being kind makes a huge difference in your life. Reading good spiritual books by Mother Teresa are very humbling. There are also many books by Vernon Howard, Dr. David R. Hawkins (my favorite), and whomever inspires you to feed your soul.
So fitness is more than just the working the body. Fitness is also working the mind and soul. Life is so much more meaningful when we feel good mentally, spiritually, and physically.
It is important that you get a checkup from your doctor. Also, your doctor needs to know how the exercises work your body. Demonstrate a few of the exercises if you have to.
